TOURIST VILLAGE REJUVENATION AND OVERTOURISM MANAGEMENT: THE DESA WISATA NGLANGGERAN LIFECYCLE EXPERIENCE, YOGYAKARTA, INDONESIA2021 •
Purpose of the Study: Overtourism is an issue that is being experienced by many well-known destinations in the world, both in urban and rural areas. The purpose of this research is to find out how the experience of developing a Tourist village is seen from the tourism lifecycle approach. This study also explores the sensitivity of managers to the phenomenon of overtourism in their village, to design strategies for product rejuvenation. Methodology: This research adopts a historical qualitative research approach. This method is exercised through two data sources. Primary data was carried out through non-participant observation (for four months) in the Nglanggeran tourist village, Yogyakarta to observe and interview tourist village managers, tourism entrepreneurs, workers, and local communities. Meanwhile, Secondary data used include online media articles, scientific writings, and promotional media. Main Findings: The study found that in the tourism area life cycle model approach, tourist villages' growth can be grouped into 6 phases. The exploration phase and stagnation, marked by the start of the Nglanggeran tourist village and massive growth that had environmental, social, and cultural impacts. The management adopts several strategies, including price management, visitor management, and length of stay management. Implication/Applications: This experience is very important to be learned and known by tourism stakeholders, especially tourist village managers and the government which is developing similar tourism products massively throughout Indonesia. The originality of the study: This research is original, and this is the first study that finds out how the experience of developing a tourist village is seen from the tourism lifecycle approach and explores how managers are sensitive to the phenomenon of overtourism in their village. Thus, this scope is expected to be developed in other tourist villages in Indonesia to get generalizations about the development of tourist villages.

The Battle of Biak that took place from 27 May to 17 August 1944 between the United States Army and the Japanese Army left the area of Biak in the Province of Papua with abundant remnants of war including bones of war casualties. The United States lost 400 lives with 2,150 wounded while the Japanese lost 4,700 lives with a big number of unknown wounded. Some years after the battle, the area became an international destination for war tourism with visitors especially originated from Japan. Tourists normally visited the battle zone for pilgrimage purposes and commemoration of the loved ones losing their lives in the battle. Some came to Biak to repatriate the remnants of their fathers or grandfathers. Following this flow of tourists, Biak started flourishing from this niche tourism opportunity. Direct national and international flights to and from Biak and the opening of luxurious hotels to cater to the developing tourism in the city was enthusiastically responded by potential travelers. Japanese pilgrimage groups kept coming in big and small groups. However the flow of visitors did not last long. As time went by, Biak war tourism started to decline as pilgrimage trips to the area became rare. As a result, internationals flight discontinued, hotels stopped operating, with sad stories from looting of war remnants from the historical area. The bright future of Biak’s war tourism— apart from depending on domestic tourism— became unclear.
The attitude of tourists who come as an important factor in influencing tourists' intentions to tourist objects. Over time, attitudes too, by the quality of service received by tourists when visiting tourist attractions and tourist attractions in tourist attractions. This study aims to explain the effect of service quality on revisit intention through tourist attraction as a mediator. The subjects of this research are tourists who have been to the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Bali Tourism Park. Determination of the sample using a non-probability sampling method, namely purposive sampling with a sample size of 310 respondents. Data were analyzed by SEM PLS technique. The results showed that service quality had a positive and significant effect on tourist attractiveness, both service quality and tourist attraction, respectively, had a significant positive effect on revisit intentions as well as the mediating effect of tourist attractions which influenced service quality on revisit intentions. The theoretical implication of this research is to enrich the empirical research evidence related to the variables studied. The results of this study are expected to have implications for GWK Bali in increasing the intention to visit tourist management again. This can be done by improving the quality of service and adding innovation to tourist attractions.

Tourism and Hospitality students' Evaluate Course-Level Learning: A Mann-Whitney U Test2021 •
This paper presents the Mann-Whitney U Test statistical technique used in statistics to examine differences between two independent groups on a continuous scale. This test is a non-parametric alternative to the t-test for independent samples. Dissimilar the t-test which compares mean values between two groups, Mann-Whitney U Test compares their median.
Bangka Regency is part of the Bangka Belitung Province who is developing tourism as amain sector. The end of 2020, the losses on the tourism sector nationally reached 10 trillion and there were 30 million jobs in the tourism sector and creative economy affected by Covid-19 pandemic. Covid-19 pandemic has had an impact on the development of tourism including the economic, employment, tax, brand image, and sustainability aspects. It needs efforts and commitment from stakeholders in the recovery of tourism industry in Bangka Regency. The stakeholders in this study consisted of private-owned enterprises, communities, local governments &state-owned corporation, tourism industry players, researchers, and tourist awareness groups. This research will focus on stakeholders analysis that plays the most role in the recovery of Bangka Regency tourism in New Normal. The purpose of the study was to analysis and know which stakeholders have big role in the recovery of Bangka Regency tourism industry during new normal period in Covid-19 pandemic. The results showed that 3 (three) stakeholders as the key players with a high level of importance and influence in the recovery of Bangka Regency tourism industry during the new normal period in Covid-19 pandemic are governments & state-owned corporation, researchers (academics), and tourist awareness groups. Stakeholders who act as a subject with high levels of importance and low influence are private groups (private enterprises). While, stakeholders who play as a crowd that have low influence and interests are the tourism and community industry players. In this study, there is no stakeholders who acted as context setters that have low importance but had a high influence.

The Development Strategy of Bukit Lawang Ecotourism and Its Impact toward Community Economy in Langkat RegencyThe development of tourism area brings many benefits to the community economically, socially and culturally. This study aims to analyse the development strategy of Bukit Lawang Ecotourism to improve the community economy and to analyse the influence of community participation, education, job opportunity, institution, and infrastructure on the community economy in Langkat Regency. This study was conducted in Bukit Lawang Ecotourism, Sei Bahorok District, Langkat Regency towards Bukit Lawang tourism visitors with a sample of 99 respondents selected using a purposive sampling technique. Data were collected using questionnaire and analysed using SWOT analysis and quantitative descriptive approach. The SWOT analysis revealed that the potential development strategy to use is S-O (Strength-Opportunity). It refers to a strategy using the strengths by taking advantage of strategic opportunities. It allows the implementation of strategies that support aggressive growth policies. Moreover, the results showed a positive influence of community participation, education, job opportunity, institution, and infrastructure on the development of Bukit Lawang Ecotourism in improving the community economy in Langkat Regency. Community participation and infrastructure significantly affect the development of the tourist site. Finally, the implication of the study is discussed further in this paper.

It is understood that Covid-19 was and is responsible for major impacts on jobs and unemployment in various sectors of the labor market and based on this assumption, it is understood that Covid-19 also influenced the tourism sector. In this way, it is proposed with this work to present the impacts that COVID-19 caused on the employment and unemployment rate of the city of São Luís do Maranhão (Brazil), in the period from January to November 2020.

It is assumed that airport movement directly influences the tourism sector, since the modal is one of the main access and exit routes for tourists in São Luís. In this sense, we seek to analyze from the amount of boarding and landing of passengers in the year of 2020 at Marechal da Cunha Machado International Airport, in São Luís do Maranhão, Brazil, to understand about the possible signs of a resumption of tourism in the capital of Maranhão.

Study of Influence of Cleanliness, Health, Safety & Environment Sustainability on Tourist to Revisit the Beaches of Indonesia2021 •
Purpose of this study was to determine the effect of cleanliness (cleanliness), health (health), safety (security), environmental sustainability (environmental sustainability) on the interest in visiting again through the intervening variable the satisfaction of the tourists about their interest in tourism destinations Balekambang Beach. Malang Regency and identify the factors that influence cleanliness, health, safety, and environmental sustainability (CHSE). This research approach is quantitative research with descriptive approach study, where the primary data collection method uses the results of interviews with the management of the Balekambang Beach tourism destination, Malang Regency in Sumber Jambe Hamlet in Srigonco Village, Bantur District, Malang Regency, and also giving questionnaires to 100 respondents who was a visitor to Balekambang Beach during the implementation CHSEperiod through the media Google form. While the data analysis in this study using normality test, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, autocorrelation, and multiple linear regression test. The results in this study, namely, the variables of cleanliness, health, safety, environmental sustainability, have a positive and significant influence on tourist satisfaction. In contrast, the results for interest in visiting show that the variables safety and health positively influence interest in visiting again. Although this is not the case for the variables of cleanliness and environment sustainability which have a positive but not significant effect on interest in revisiting. So based on these results, it can be studied that tourist satisfaction can mediate the influence between safety and health on interest and revisitingcleanliness and environment sustainability on interest with a note that tourist satisfaction must be guaranteed through increased innovation and quality of destinations in implementing revisiting CHSE. While the factors that influence the management of CHSE are visitor interest in adapting, the environment, the presence of unwanted events. Based on the study results, in practice, this study of the variable CHSE can be a significant innovation in moving the tourism sector in the era of the Covid-19 pandemic in reaching behavioral changes from tourists.
