Abstract

Employee turnover can simply be defined as someone leaving the organization but in general it has even become a separate phenomenon (Phillip & Cornel, 2012). And if employee turnover occurs within the hospitality business and this phenomenon is even very common, there will be losses that can be experienced by both the employee and the employer / company. The research took place the business location of Hotel Nyland Cipaganti which is on Jl. A A. Wiranatakusumah No. 14, Cihampelas, Bandung, Indonesia, 40131 Bandung. This business location was chosen because it was a case of low turnover and a low number of employees. The research took place the business location of Hotel Nyland Cipaganti which is on Jl. A A. Wiranatakusumah No. 14, Cihampelas, Bandung, Indonesia, 40131 Bandung. The business location was chosen because it was a turnover case with a sufficient number of cases covering the number of existing employees. Using a qualitative approach and a case study method, this study seeks to explain the conditions that occur at Hotel Nyland Cipaganti. The case study method used for data collection was interviewing 4 participants. The four speakers were expected to be able to explain the reasons and how to handle employee turnover, so 3 participants who were former employees and one from the Nyland Cipaganti Hotel were selected to be the speakers. The data per source is then reduced so that it can be discussed qualitatively and finally synthesized into applicable recommendations for use by the hotel. From the results of this study, it can be seen that employees leave for various reasons, ranging from personal matters to the existence of needs and desires that are not yet fulfilled by the company. However, the steps taken by the hotel so far are good because the methods used are sufficient to reduce the number of employees leaving. It can be concluded that the hotel still has steps that can be taken if the hotel has enough information and adds practical and unique steps in existing cases to prevent the loss of employees, especially employees who have been loyal so far.
