Abstract

The purpose of this study is to review the role of stakeholders in the management of Geotourism villages in Gunungmasigit Village so that researchers can formulate strategies for managing Geotourism villages in Gunungmasigit Village based on a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, & Threats) analysis. This research uses a qualitative method, while data collection is done by literature study, observation, interviews, and peer debriefing. Data collection tools are observation sheets (checklists) and documentation. The results showed that Gunungmasigit Village has 3 main geosites and 2 potential geosites that have been identified which have close links with folklore, historical and archaeological heritage, geological and geomorphological aspects. However, there are several obstacles, such as the lack of supporting facilities and the quality of the environment. To develop an essential tourist destination, it is necessary to take actions that can minimize the weakness and threats that can occur at any time. The results of this study recommend Geotourism Village management strategy by involving the influence of stakeholders interested in it. So that it can help Gunungmasigit Village in managing tourism in its area, to increase income and community involvement in tourism activities, as well as the preservation of archaeological sites.
