Abstract

The decline in work motivation within the Human Resources Department at Hotel Padma Bandung has affected employee effectiveness, as indicated by low attendance rates, lack of initiative, and weak recognition and supervision. This study aims to analyze the intrinsic and extrinsic factors of employee motivation and their impact on task performance. The research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method, with data collected through interviews and observations, and analyzed using the Miles & Huberman model. The findings reveal that intrinsic motivation remains low, particularly in aspects such as achievement, recognition, responsibility, and advancement. On the extrinsic side, obstacles were found in work relationships, the physical work environment, and the quality of supervision. This decline in motivation has led to reduced work enthusiasm and employee engagement. The study concludes that employee work motivation has not been optimally developed, both from within the individuals and through support from the work environment.
