Abstract

The South Thousand Islands is one of the administrative areas in Special Capital Region Jakarta, where this study focuses on the three most frequently visited islands, namely Untung Jawa Island, Pari Island, and Tidung Island. This study aims to determine the pattern of tourist visits by looking at the state of tourism and the available routes as well as the tourists’s behavior. In order to achieve this, several stages are needed, namely identifying the characteristics of the destination and the tourists, then studying the movement path of tourists when traveling in the South Thousand Islands. This study uses a qualitative methodology with descriptive analysis, data collection techniques are carried out through field observations, interviews, literature studies and documentation. The results of the study show that the actual conditions in the South Thousand Islands quite meet the criteria for tourism products although there are still some things that can be optimized, the service route visits are also still quite limited and this will not make it easier for tourists to visit tourist attractions, where it is found that tourists who visit tend to have psychocentric behavior. All of these affect the existing pattern of visits, and three patterns are formed, namely the Repetitive Point to Point Pattern, Single Point to Point Pattern, and Circular Loop Pattern.
